Ten Thousand Followers!

WordPress

Would love to say something on all ten thousand of you but realized that a poet had said it so much better than me about 200 years ago.

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

People keep asking me what I’m going to do with this platform. What is it going to be? What is it going to be?

But really, this is it and that is enough.

Thank you ten thousand for tossing your heads in sprightly dance with me.

  1. Amazing! Amazing! Congrats! I recently hit 1000 and felt like I had landed on the moon! Ten thousand is pretty much (as my teenager would say) “Beast Mode!” Congrats again!

  2. 10,000 followers is hard to fathom, just as is a skyful of stars (yes, I made up that word, but it really should be a word…). An amazing feat, and the neat thing is that you reached it not by any cheesy sexy ignorant way, but by working on words and sending out joyful poems and messages. How cool is THAT?

  3. I’ve been called many things in my life, some complimentary, most of it not so, but this is the first time I’ve been called a daffodil! Daffy? Yes. Daffodil? No. 🙂 🙂

    Congratulations!

      1. Not sure why not. I suppose I don’t really come across as a flower. Way too pragmatic and pedantic. On the other hand, daffodils are my Beloved Bangalan’s favorite flower and that ^^ poem is one of her favorites, so, uh, ah, hmm, I don’t know..

        Inflorescence? I’ll take that!
